Preview: Benjamin Franklin Chargers vs. Valley Christian Trojans
Benjamin Franklin is 0-4 against Valley Christian since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Benjamin Franklin Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Valley Christian Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Benjamin Franklin has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Valley Christian will arrive with three straight victories.
Benjamin Franklin pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by San Tan Charter at home and fell 90-56. Benjamin Franklin has not had much luck with San Tan Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Benjamin Franklin got a solid performance out of Zach Zambrano, who scored 16 points. Kyle Mott was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, even though Pusch Ridge Christian Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Valley Christian still came out on top. Valley Christian took their game at home with ease, bagging a 93-60 victory over Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-28.
Fountain Hills' win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Benjamin Franklin's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
Benjamin Franklin was dealt a bruising 91-52 loss at the hands of Valley Christian when the teams last played back in January. Can Benjamin Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
