Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Huskies vs. West Panthers

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against West. The Huskies will challenge the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hillcrest has eight straight wins, West has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Wednesday, Hillcrest had just enough and edged out West 6-5.

Ryan Tomlinson was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Hillcrest's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hillcrest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.8 stolen bases per game.
