Volleyball Recap: Kyleigh Dellinger's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Amplus Academy over Mater Academy East Las Vegas

Amplus Academy lost against Mater Academy East Las Vegas back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Archers fell 3-1 to the Knights.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mater Academy East Las Vegas scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Amplus Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kyleigh Dellinger, who had 11 digs and two assists. Caitlyn Estacio was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Amplus Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they moved to 6-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Coming up, Amplus Academy will challenge Doral Academy Red Rock at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mater Academy East Las Vegas has already played their next contest (against Cimarron-Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
