Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

St. John Paul II is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakulla on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, St. John Paul II got top-tier performance from Aliyah Medrano, who posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. Medrano is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Jacobs, who earned 11 points along with six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Wakulla Christian School played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Liberty County and fell 48-17. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-0.
