Volleyball Preview: Bloomington South Panthers vs. Seymour Owls
The Bloomington South Panthers will head out to face off against the Seymour Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bloomington South will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Bloomington South proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Columbus North 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since September 10th.
Bloomington South wouldn't go down easily and took Columbus North into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-21, 25-19, 16-25, 15-10.
Bloomington South can attribute much of their success to Neely Warner, who had 15 digs and two assists.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seymour, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Bedford North Lawrence 3-0 on Tuesday. The Owls not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-16, 25-15.
Bloomington South's record now sits at 25-5. As for Seymour, their record is now 13-14.
Bloomington South was able to grind out a solid victory over Seymour when the teams last played back in August, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
