Recap: Appling Christian Academy Eagles vs. Trinity Christian
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Byne Christian, the Appling Christian Academy Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Trinity Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Appling Christian Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jaden Drake continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. The matchup was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alex Coursey was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Trinity Christian saw an underclassman step up: Isaac Sherrod scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Cleveland, who scored 8 points.
Appling Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Appling Christian Academy will be playing at home against Grace Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against The Habersham School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
