Volleyball Recap: Indio's Run of Eight Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Indio unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles. The Rajahs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

While Indio ultimately came up short, they really made Desert Hot Springs work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 20-25, 25-22, 29-27.

Lionel Ayon paced Indio's offense, picking up 25 kills. Ayon got some help from Jesus Jimenez and his 15 assists. Ethan Hernandez controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Indio's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Desert Hot Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Indio and Desert Hot Springs will both be playing Xavier Prep the next time they take the court. The Rajahs will head out to face the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Golden Eagles will host them at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
