For Antioch's part, Alonzia Battle Iii was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave Battle Iii a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Antioch is 5-1 when Battle Iii posts two or more runs, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Coby Belton was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. He is becoming a predictor of Antioch's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 8-2 (and 0-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Pendergrass Jr., who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
