This season hasn't been kind to the Tenoroc Titans, who are still winless after their 12th match. They lost to Excel Christian Academy at home by a decisive 60-46 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Tenoroc can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 738th, while Excel Christian Academy is ranked 304th).

Jeremy Russell was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds for Excel Christian Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Daquaylon Coffee, who scored nine points along with 17 rebounds and five blocks.

Tenoroc bumped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Excel Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Tenoroc won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mulberry at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Mulberry's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge McKeel Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully McKeel Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
