Stuart is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Leyton is on a five-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Broncos will face off against the Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Stuart is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 47-7 win over Meridian. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Mustangs are ranked 57th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Stuart's victory came down to the chemistry between Kayde Ramm and his top target Owen Littau. Ramm rushed for 75 yards and three TDs while Littau rushed for 99 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Ramm also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles. Drew Schmaderer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Stuart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 310 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Stuart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Schmaderer was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself. Stuart received some extra help from Littau, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Leyton's strategy against Pawnee City on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Indians out of the water with a 63-14 final score. The Warriors pushed the score to 56-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had no chance of recovering from.
Stuart better keep an eye on Colt Van Anne. He was instrumental in Leyton's win, rushing for 128 yards and four touchdowns, while also picking up 49 receiving yards. Van Anne showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 64 yards.
Stuart's record is now 8-1. As for Leyton, their record now sits at an identical 8-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Stuart has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 166.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Leyton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 209.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
