Recap: California Trojans vs. Monessen Greyhounds
The California Trojans managed to keep up with the Monessen Greyhounds until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. California was dealt a 90-59 loss at the hands of Monessen. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for California in their matchups with Monessen: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, California still got an impressive performance from Noah Neil, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Caden Monticelli was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
California's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Monessen, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
California does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monessen, they will head out on the road to take on Jeannette at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Monessen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Jeannette likes a good challenge.
