Basketball Game Preview: Coal Ridge Titans vs. Palisade Bulldogs

The Coal Ridge Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Palisade Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coal Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.

Coal Ridge will head out to face Palisade after giving up their first home loss of the season on Saturday. Coal Ridge fell to Aspen 49-45.

Coal Ridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ben Simons, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards, and Gio Ervin, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 13 points. The dominant performance gave Ervin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Cornejo, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Palisade ended up a good deal behind Fruita Monument on Friday and lost 51-33. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Coal Ridge suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 15-5. As for Palisade, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Coal Ridge came up short against Palisade in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 55-45. Can Coal Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
