Baseball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

Benton entered their contest against Zeigler-Royalton on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Benton lost 8-1 to Zeigler-Royalton. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2015.

Benton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Thomas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Zeigler-Royalton, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton will welcome Warren Township at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Zeigler-Royalton, they will host Steeleville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
