Softball Recap: Newport Wildcats vs. Bellevue Tigers

Newport extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 24-0 to the Bellevue Tigers. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Bellevue, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6. That 24 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Bellevue's part, Paulina Long made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Long was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
