Basketball Recap: Chloe Campbell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead William Floyd over Longwood

William Floyd was the 69-40 winner over Longwood when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The William Floyd Colonials fell to the Longwood Lions 49-44.

William Floyd lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Chloe Campbell, who posted ten points along with seven boards and five blocks. Campbell has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javeah Stewart, who put up ten points.

William Floyd's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Longwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

William Floyd will host Brentwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Longwood, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverhead at 5:00 p.m. on January 16, 2025.
