Basketball Recap: East Panthers vs. Middle Early College Kats

The East Panthers pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between them and Middle Early College wasn't particularly close, with East falling 75-57. East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, East still got an impressive performance from Jussean Pearsall, who scored 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Pearsall hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Rhondell Johnson, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

East's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Middle Early College, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Coincidentally, East and the Kats will both be playing the Presidents the next time they take the court. Middle Early College will head out to face International Prep at Grover at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while East will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
