Baseball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. South El Monte Eagles

The Temple City Rams are taking a road trip to take on the South El Monte Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Things were looking good for Temple City after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of La Canada.

Meanwhile, South El Monte didn't have quite enough to beat Garden Grove on Friday and fell 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South El Monte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Cordova, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Temple City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. South El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Temple City came up short against South El Monte in their previous meeting on March 6th, falling 5-0. Can Temple City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
