Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby). They claimed a resounding 75-36 win over the Cherryville Ironmen. The Golden Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dereon Kee, who went 9 of 21 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. Da'Mani French was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 11 points along with five assists and five boards.

Shelby smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Cherryville lost on Tuesday, don't look at Raylei Gidney. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 52.8% of Cherryville's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Allen, who scored 11 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Shelby has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.9 points per game. As for Cherryville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Shelby wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-41 defeat against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy on the 29th. As for Cherryville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-36 victory against East Gaston on the 29th.
