Volleyball Recap: Gulf Takes a Loss

Gulf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Land O' Lakes Gators. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Gators when the teams met back in October of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-11.

Lilli Maita was the offensive standout of the match as she had five aces and three digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last five matchups.

Gulf's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Land O' Lakes, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Gulf didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Fivay on the 27th. As for Land O' Lakes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Zephyrhills on the 27th.
