Basketball Game Preview: Buna Cougars vs. Anahuac Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Buna Cougars face off against the Anahuac Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Buna is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Buna saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pineywoods Community Academy.

Meanwhile, Anahuac came up short against Livingston on Friday, falling 53-32. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1024th, while the Lions are ranked 310th).

Buna's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Anahuac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Buna strolled past Anahuac in their previous meeting back in February by a score of 55-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buna since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
