Softball Game Preview: Flat Rock Rams vs. Jefferson Bears

Flat Rock has gone 9-1 against Jefferson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Rams will welcome the Bears at 4:30 p.m. Flat Rock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Flat Rock fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against St. Mary Catholic Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 9-5 to the Falcons. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 22, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Ashlin Woodman was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-1 to Huron.

Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alivia LeBrun, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Flat Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Jefferson's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Flat Rock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. It's a different story for Jefferson, though, as they've only averaged .214. Will they be able to contain Flat Rock's hitters?

Flat Rock got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Jefferson by a conclusive 19-4 score. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
