Baseball Recap: Grainger Has No Trouble Against West Greene

Grainger lost to West Greene back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Grizzlies blew past the Buffaloes 8-2.

Ashton Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Taylor was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connor May, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Grainger's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 9-16 when he doesn't). Josh Walker was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Grainger is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-17 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for West Greene, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7.

As of now, neither Grainger nor the Buffaloes have any future games scheduled.
