Basketball Recap: Norton Bluejays vs. Plainville Cardinals
The Norton Bluejays scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Plainville 62-32 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-15.
Norton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hallie Brooks led the charge by scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Brooks hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Clydesdale, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
The victory was the third in a row for Norton, bringing their record for this year to 11-3. As for Plainville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-13.
Norton will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Plainsmen at 6:00 p.m. Oakley is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Plainville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Ringnecks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hill City comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
