Baseball Recap: Devine Comes Up Short

If Devine was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Uvalde last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warhorses took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrizo Springs Wildcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 back in March.

Alfredo Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

Devine has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-1 record this season. As for Carrizo Springs, they moved to 13-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Devine will challenge Pleasanton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Warhorses surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carrizo Springs, they will face off against Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
