Baseball Recap: Goleman Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Goleman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They never let the Homestead Broncos onto the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Gators' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Izaiah Guerrero looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Daniel Garcia was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kharu Hunter, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Goleman's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Homestead, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goleman will challenge Downtown Doral at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Homestead, they will square off against South Miami at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
