Baseball Recap: Hulbert Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

On Thursday Hulbert's undefeated season almost came to an end. They had just enough and edged out the Oaks-Mission Warriors 5-3. While the Riders didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Shane Hubbard also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Hulbert pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oaks-Mission, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hulbert will take on Webbers Falls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oaks-Mission will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Welch at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. Welch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
