Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Dobson

The Gilbert Tigers will face off against the Dobson Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Gilbert is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Sunnyside, who was ranked second at the time (Gilbert was ranked 18th). Gilbert fell just short of Sunnyside by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dobson had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Vikings. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won three games in a row.

They hit Sunnyslope with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adrian Hernandez (2), Diego Flores, and Diego Romo.

Gilbert's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Dobson, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
