Basketball Recap: Francis W. Parker Takes a Loss

Francis W. Parker lost against Northridge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Francis W. Parker Colonels were outmatched by the Northridge Knights and fell 89-58. While losing is never fun, the Colonels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Knights are ranked 115th).

Francis W. Parker lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brady Harris, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Francis W. Parker is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Francis W. Parker has already played their next contest, an 81-68 victory against Southland College Prep on the 14th. As for Northridge, they will venture away from home to challenge Lake Forest Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Lake Forest Academy likes a good challenge.
