Football Game Preview: Lakeland vs. King's Fork

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for King's Fork. They will challenge Lakeland on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. King's Fork don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

King's Fork's and Indian River's contest last Friday was up for grabs at halftime, but King's Fork were thoroughly outmatched in the second half. King's Fork suffered a grim 13-41 defeat to Indian River. King's Fork were down by 7-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Lakeland might have drawn first blood against Grassfield, but it was Grassfield who got the last laugh. Lakeland didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 20-24 to Grassfield. This makes it the second loss in a row for Lakeland.

King's Fork didn't have too much trouble with Lakeland the last time the two teams met as they won 21-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for King's Fork since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
