Basketball Recap: Wyandanch Takes a Loss

Wyandanch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by the Westhampton Beach Hurricanes 63-23. The matchup marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Nevaeh Hewitt and Nyasia Murphy certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hewitt posted eight points and eight boards, while Murphy scored nine points. Hewitt has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Wyandanch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Westhampton Beach, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Wyandanch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-30 loss against Port Washington on the 11th. As for Westhampton Beach, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-41 victory against Walt Whitman on the 11th.
