Volleyball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Independence was the 3-0 winner over Page when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Patriots on Thursday.

While Independence had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 13-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Elia Dinsmore paced Independence's offense, picking up 22 kills. Dinsmore got some help from Raegan Burtch and her 37 assists. Lanie Yoon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Page was led to victory by Hannah Rider and Peyton Anway. Rider had 24 digs and three assists, while Anway had four aces. That's the most assists Rider has posted since back in August.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Page, their record now sits at 16-11.

Coming up, Independence will take on Ravenwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Raptors at the right time seeing as the Raptors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Page does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
