University City was the 81-65 winner over Calexico when they last played one another back in March of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Centurions took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Monday.
University City lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jeein Kim, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Mandrell Jr., who put up five points and eight boards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Calexico to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dany Carreon, who scored 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Alberto Castro, who had six points and three steals.
