Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Lamar

Lamar won the last time they faced Ellicott, and Jacob Dunning did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lamar Thunder simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Ellicott Thunderhawks 64-32 thanks in part to Dunning, who went 5 for 9 en route to 11 points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Cason Pollart, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Several Thunderhawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tavon Flewellen, who had 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Bonilla, who earned five points and seven boards.

The victory (which was Lamar's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Ellicott, their loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Lamar has already played their next matchup, a 57-19 win against Florence on the 24th. As for Ellicott, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-41 defeat against Woodland Park on the 24th.
