Mooreland blew Sayre out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Sayre got their revenge. The Bearcats fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bearcats have suffered since March 20th.

Mooreland has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Sayre, their victory bumped their record up to 18-8.

Looking ahead, Mooreland is taking a road trip to square off against Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sayre has already played their next contest (against Arnett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
