Baseball Recap: Dewey Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Dewey won against Sperry on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulldoggers blew past the Cleveland Tigers 14-1. The Bulldoggers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Karson Johnson looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Easton Davis, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Parker Garrison, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Dewey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland only posted an OBP of .348.

The victory was the third in a row for Dewey, bringing their record up to 25-6. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Cleveland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 19 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-22 record this season.

Dewey will challenge Skiatook at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cleveland, they will take on Drumright at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
