Softball Recap: Pottsboro Comes Up Short

Pottsboro lost against Honey Grove back in March of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pottsboro Cardinals fell 10-5 to the Honey Grove Warriors.

Scarlett Casanada was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Madison Johnson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Even though they lost, Pottsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Pottsboro now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Honey Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Pottsboro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-2 victory against Sam Rayburn on the 27th. Honey Grove has also already played their next game (against Rivercrest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
