Volleyball Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Homestead can now relate to. They fell just short of the Bellmont Braves by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Bellmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Ross led the charge by getting eight digs and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Ross a new career-high.

Homestead is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-11. As for Bellmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bellmont, they will face off against Huntington North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
