Normandy has gone 9-1 against Rocky River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Invaders will venture away from home to face off against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, Normandy came up short against Bay and fell 5-2.

Lizzie Skidmore was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Rocky River came up short against Westlake on Wednesday, falling 8-2.

Reagan Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rocky River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Sollars, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Normandy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Rocky River, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Normandy was able to grind out a solid win over Rocky River when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 6-2. Do the Invaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
