Volleyball Recap: Noblesville Millers vs. Homestead Spartans
Noblesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Homestead Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Millers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Homestead scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18.
Anas Sakkah paced Noblesville's offense, picking up seven kills. Sakkah got some help from Sam Wolf and his three assists. Ben Naville controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Homestead was led to victory by Harrison Talarico and Jesse Biedenbach. Talarico had ten digs and one assist, while Biedenbach had nine digs and two aces. What's more, Biedenbach also posted a 50% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved over his last nine matches.
Noblesville's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Homestead, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Noblesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Carroll on the 26th. As for Homestead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against McCutcheon on the 26th.
