Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Leuzinger's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Leuzinger never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Centennial Apaches 19-0. Considering the Olympians have won 11 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Victoria Gonzalez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Leuzinger got a massive performance out of Jazmin Zamora, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Olivia Cunanan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Leuzinger always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Leuzinger is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
