Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Memphis East). They snuck past the Whitehaven Tigers with a 78-73 victory on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-41 back in January.

Leading Memphis East to victory were McKenzie Register and Ashlee Sinkfield. Register went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 29 points, while Sinkfield went 7 of 17 en route to 19 points and four steals. Those 29 points gave Register a new career-high. Amiyah Spencer was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven boards and five steals.

Memphis East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Whitehaven, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Memphis East will take on Overton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Whitehaven, they will challenge White Station at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White Station will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Whitehaven surely won't give up without a fight.
