Baseball Recap: Fairmont Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairmont can now relate to. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayne Warriors on Tuesday. The Firebirds just can't catch a break and have now endured nine losses in a row.

Logan Doty was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Fairmont is 4-2 when Doty posts two or more runs, but 9-16 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Osterfeld, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Wayne, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17.

As of now, neither Fairmont nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
