Basketball Recap: Eastern Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cardington-Lincoln

With a playoff win on the line, Eastern rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They strolled past the Cardington-Lincoln Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 71-55. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Pirates are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Cardington-Lincoln, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-7.

Looking ahead, Eastern will face off against Monroe Central at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Monroe Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Eastern surely won't give up without a fight. Cardington-Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
