The home team had won the previous six meetings between Pearl and Brandon, and Pearl kept the tradition alive. The Pirates walked away with a 66-59 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Despite the loss, Brandon had strong showings from Elijah Morey, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, and Caiden Ratlifff, who posted 11 points and five steals. Morey is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Lando Cavett was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Pearl's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Brandon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Pearl will head out to square off against Oak Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brandon, they will be home for the holidays to greet Vicksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
