Basketball Recap: Holy Savior Menard Comes Up Short

Holy Savior Menard played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 77-40 loss at the hands of the Tioga Indians. The Eagles were down 52-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Holy Savior Menard's loss came despite strong showings from Gage Wright and Peyton Procell. Wright almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards, while Procell almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Wright now owns an excellent 51.4% field goal percentage.

Holy Savior Menard's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Tioga, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Holy Savior Menard will square off against Southside at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tioga, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Richwood at 6:00 p.m. on the 16th.
