Football Game Preview: Conestoga Cougars vs. Palmyra Panthers

The Conestoga Cougars will face off against the Palmyra Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Conestoga is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Raymond Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Cougars took a blow against the Mustangs, falling 39-7. The Cougars were down 39-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-13, which was the final score in Palmyra's tilt against Malcolm on Thursday.

Although Palmyra took the loss, they still got scores from Grant Frey and Leyton Mapson.

Conestoga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Palmyra, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Conestoga strolled past Palmyra in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 14-0. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
