Basketball Recap: Archbishop Rummel Gets the Win

Archbishop Rummel won against Edna Karr last Friday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Archbishop Rummel Raiders snuck past the Jesuit Blue Jays with a 55-49 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Blue Jays recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Archbishop Rummel had a senior duo take command as Jackson Cosentino went 8-for-16 to rack up 21 points and six rebounds and TJ Duhe went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points and six assists. The match was Cosentino's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Grant Latino, who posted five points and six boards.

Archbishop Rummel's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points over those games. As for Jesuit, their loss dropped their record down to 22-8.

Archbishop Rummel and Jesuit should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Archbishop Rummel (ranked 32nd) will meet Hamilton Christian (ranked 85th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Jesuit will square off against Eleanor McMain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 278 places (11 vs. 289).
