Basketball Recap: Hixson Comes Up Short

Hixson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 58-34 to the Berean Academy Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-41 back in December of 2024.

Berean Academy was led to victory by Cody Stansifer and Daniel Wigginton. Stansifer almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards, while Wigginton almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Those 17 points gave Stansifer a new career-high. Ethan Durham was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Hixson's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Berean Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Hixson will be playing in front of their home fans against Soddy Daisy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berean Academy, they will take on Oakwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berean Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
