Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is North Marion's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

With a playoff win on the line, North Marion rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Atlantic Sharks by a score of 6-3. That's more bragging rights for the Colts, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

John Collins was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of North Marion's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Rowan Quartararo was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

North Marion hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matchups.

North Marion has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Atlantic, they dropped their record down to 12-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, North Marion will face off against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Atlantic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
