Basketball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Warren Warriors, falling 88-64. If the Zephyrs were looking for revenge after losing 66-40 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Warren was led to victory by Treyton Pafford and Bryce VanRaalte. Pafford dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards, while VanRaalte went 10 for 13 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was Pafford's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Alex Niemann was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Benton's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Warren, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-5.

Benton has already played their next game (against Belmont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Warren will face off against Lena-Winslow at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Warren is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
